About the Role
As a Geriatrics Physician with LocumJobsNetwork in Peoria, you'll address the complex medical and psychosocial needs of older adults. What You'll Do
- Evaluate and manage acute and chronic conditions common in geriatric populations, including dementia, fall risk, polypharmacy, and age-related syndromes
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary care teams to optimize patient outcomes and quality of life
- Prescribe and monitor medications with careful attention to drug interactions and age-related sensitivities
- Maintain detailed clinical documentation and electronic health records per facility standards
- Educate patients and families about treatment options, advance directives, and preventive care
- Contribute to facility operations and clinical protocols as needed
What We're Looking For
- MD or DO degree and active, unrestricted medical license in Illinois
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatrics (or board eligibility)
- Demonstrated experience providing care to geriatric patient populations
- Strong clinical judgment and collaborative communication skills
- Current malpractice insurance or willingness to obtain it through our partners
- Flexibility to adapt to different healthcare settings and patient populations
