The LISW or Psychologist (Denison, IA) – Youth Residential Program role at PsyPhyCare focuses on applying evidence-based mental health practices to the unique needs of adolescents living in residential care. You will combine assessment expertise, ongoing clinical oversight, and collaborative care planning so that every resident receives consistent, trauma-sensitive support while residing in Denison, IA.

What You'll Do

• Complete comprehensive mental health evaluations and diagnostic assessments for youth entering or currently placed in the residential program
• Design, document, and regularly revise individualized treatment plans that address emotional, behavioral, and developmental goals
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions using modalities appropriate for adolescents in residential care
• Coordinate closely with residential staff, case managers, schools, and external providers to ensure integrated support
• Monitor resident progress, adjust interventions as needed, and maintain accurate clinical records that meet regulatory standards
• Respond to behavioral health crises with calm de-escalation techniques and timely clinical decision-making
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment-team meetings and contribute professional recommendations for discharge planning

What You Bring

• Active, unrestricted LISW license or Psychologist license valid in Iowa
• Master’s or doctoral degree in social work, psychology, or a closely related field meeting Iowa licensing requirements
• Prior professional experience delivering therapy or clinical services to children or adolescents, preferably in residential, inpatient, or similar structured settings
• Solid knowledge of trauma-informed approaches, adolescent development, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to collaborate effectively on a multidisciplinary team
• Strong organizational habits for timely documentation and compliance with confidentiality rules
• Willingness to work on-site in Denison, IA as a full-time team member
