What You'll Do

  • Interpret and apply campaign finance statutes and regulations to guide organizational policy and decision-making
  • Conduct thorough legal research using databases, case law, and legislative resources to support counsel on substantive issues
  • Draft legal memoranda, analyses, and written guidance that clearly communicate legal positions and recommendations
  • Review and assess contracts, compliance documents, and regulatory filings to identify legal risks and ensure adherence to Massachusetts law
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments including policy, finance, and operations to integrate legal considerations into strategic planning
  • Contribute to the development of internal policies, procedures, and training materials that align with legal obligations
  • Stay current on evolving campaign finance law and related regulatory developments affecting the Commonwealth

What We're Looking For

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing, admitted to the Massachusetts Bar Association
  • Two to five years of full-time professional legal experience or equivalent part-time work in a law-related field
  • Strong knowledge of campaign finance statutes, regulations, and compliance frameworks
  • Proficiency in legal research, database management, and legal research platforms
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear, precise legal documents and memoranda
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail in legal analysis and documentation
