Role Overview

In this leadership role, you will develop and oversee advanced quantitative risk models that inform regulatory decision-making and bank supervision. As a principal-level contributor, you will drive complex analytical initiatives, mentor junior quantitative professionals, and directly influence how the OCC assesses and manages systemic risk in the US banking system. Your work spans capital adequacy analysis, stress testing, model validation, and regulatory framework development.

Core Duties

  • Design and implement quantitative risk models for capital adequacy, concentration risk, liquidity risk, and credit risk assessment
  • Lead stress testing programs and scenario analysis for large financial institutions
  • Validate and oversee risk models developed by banks under OCC supervision
  • Conduct quantitative research on emerging financial risks and regulatory implications
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to senior leadership and external stakeholders
  • Mentor and supervise quantitative analysts and junior staff
  • Collaborate with bank examiners, economists, and policy teams on risk-related initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • Advanced degree in mathematics, physics, statistics, economics, engineering, or related quantitative discipline
  • Substantial professional experience in quantitative risk modeling, financial analysis, or similar analytical role
  • Expert proficiency in statistical modeling, time-series analysis, and computational methods
  • Strong knowledge of financial risk frameworks including market risk, credit risk, operational risk, and liquidity risk
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and mentor junior professionals
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex quantitative concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Understanding of banking regulation and the role of federal supervisory agencies
