Role Overview
A 12-month fixed-term opportunity awaits a dedicated and experienced Lawyer to make a meaningful difference for survivors of the National Redress Scheme and the Territories Stolen Generations Redress Scheme. As we approach the final stages before application closures, Knowmore is urgently seeking professionals who can assist as many survivors as possible in understanding their options, accessing legal advice, and making informed decisions about applying.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive legal advice to survivors of the National Redress Scheme and the Territories Stolen Generations Redress Scheme.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of applications for redress.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted within deadlines.
- Collaborate closely with other legal professionals to ensure a coordinated approach.
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within the legal aid or community law sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in civil and human rights law, particularly in relation to redress schemes.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with survivors and their families.
- A commitment to social justice and a passion for supporting vulnerable communities.
