Junior Paralegal, Contracts

Carta is seeking a full-time Junior Paralegal, Contracts to join its legal operations team at locations in Hamilton, NJ, Seattle, WA, or Sandy, UT. In this role, you'll support high-volume contract reviews and client onboarding in Carta Law, an AI-native legal practice dedicated to private capital markets.

Position Summary

As a Junior Paralegal in Carta's legal team, you'll be part of our North America Contracts practice, working alongside lawyers and AI agents to deliver legal services at scale. Carta Law combines legal expertise with cutting-edge technology to handle investor onboarding, transaction due diligence, and complex contract work with speed and precision. You'll gain exposure across multiple practice areas—compliance, contracts, and fund administration—developing deep expertise in private capital markets. This full-time position offers competitive compensation with salary ranges of $64,855–$81,099 in Hamilton, NJ; $72,485–$90,640 in Seattle, WA; and $61,040–$76,328 in Sandy, UT, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and mark up investment-related non-disclosure agreements and commercial contracts in collaboration with senior attorneys
• Oversee document workflows, including tracking critical dates, coordinating with external parties, and facilitating final execution
• Partner with lawyers and experienced paralegals to ensure accurate, timely delivery on complex client engagements
• Progressively develop expertise through hands-on involvement across different practice areas and client accounts

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent educational background (strongly preferred)
• Prior familiarity with NDAs, KYC documentation, or similar legal processes (valued, though not essential)
• Genuine enthusiasm for learning legal concepts and building professional expertise
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and priorities without sacrificing accuracy
• Polished written and verbal communication abilities, with an emphasis on clarity and professionalism
• Self-directed work style; you identify problems early and take ownership of solutions
• Collaborative approach to working with attorneys, peers, and client-facing colleagues in a dynamic environment
