Gpac is seeking an experienced Tax Senior to join their team in Wilmington, New Hanover County. This is a full-time opportunity to lead a growing tax practice and make a meaningful impact on client success.

About the Role

We're looking for a seasoned tax professional ready to step into a leadership position. Your expertise in tax strategy, compliance, and client relations will be essential as our firm expands. You'll oversee day-to-day operations within the tax department while building strong client relationships and mentoring team members to deliver exceptional service.

What You'll Do

• Direct and supervise a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and performance feedback
• Develop and implement tax strategies that optimize client outcomes and ensure compliance
• Prepare and review complex tax returns and documentation
• Manage client relationships, conduct tax planning consultations, and communicate recommendations clearly
• Lead tax projects from inception through delivery, maintaining high quality standards
• Stay current with tax code changes and regulations affecting client portfolios
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development

What We're Looking For

• CPA certification or equivalent tax credential; pursuing CPA is acceptable
• 5+ years of hands-on tax preparation and compliance experience
• Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax requirements
• Proficiency with tax software and accounting systems
• Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong analytical capabilities
• Commitment to professional growth and continuing education
