About the Role
As a Job Coach with Goodwill Industries Southern New England, you'll work directly with individuals to build workplace skills, confidence, and independence. This full-time position in North Haven offers the opportunity to support meaningful employment outcomes for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through hands-on coaching, skill development, and real-world workplace experience.
What You'll Do
- Provide one-on-one job coaching and training to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community work settings
- Conduct job site assessments and develop individualized training plans based on each person's unique abilities and employment goals
- Teach job-specific skills, workplace conduct, communication, and safety practices through direct instruction and modeling
- Monitor participant progress, provide feedback, and adjust coaching strategies to support independence and workplace success
- Communicate and coordinate with employers, supervisors, family members, and case managers to ensure consistent support
- Document performance, maintain detailed records, and track employment outcomes
- Support participants in developing problem-solving and interpersonal skills needed for long-term job retention
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with sensitivity, patience, and respect toward individuals with disabilities
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting employment and independence for people with developmental disabilities
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple job sites in North Haven and the surrounding area
- Experience in vocational rehabilitation, job coaching, or disability services preferred
- Ability to pass a background check

Compensation and Benefits
This full-time position offers competitive compensation starting at $19.85 per hour.
