Role Overview
As IT Project Manager at Maximus, you'll manage complex technology projects supporting the New York State of Health program. With strong Scrum Master capabilities, you'll champion agile methodologies, coordinate with diverse technical and business teams, and maintain accountability for on-schedule, on-scope delivery. This is a full-time position based in Waterloo, Black Hawk County.
Core Duties
- Oversee end-to-end project lifecycle for public health technology initiatives
- Lead sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives using Scrum framework
- Facilitate communication between development teams, stakeholders, and program leadership
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure on-time delivery
- Remove impediments and escalate blockers to keep teams unblocked
- Track quality metrics and drive continuous improvement across project teams
What You Bring
- Proven Scrum Master certification or equivalent hands-on agile project management experience
- Track record delivering IT projects in government, health services, or compliance-heavy environments
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with agile tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of SDLC best practices and modern development frameworks
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
