CDM Smith is seeking an accomplished International PFASs Forensics Subject Matter Expert to join its team in Augusta, contributing technical leadership to environmental forensics work that addresses per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) on a global scale.

About the Role

As an International PFASs Forensics Subject Matter Expert at CDM Smith, you will serve as a recognized authority on PFAS source identification, fate, and transport. This full-time, on-site position in Augusta places you at the center of complex investigations, guiding clients and project teams through the scientific and regulatory challenges that surround emerging contaminants worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply advanced forensic techniques to characterize PFAS sources, distribution, and migration across diverse environmental settings.
• Provide expert technical direction on international PFAS projects, shaping investigation strategies and interpreting analytical data.
• Translate complex findings into clear guidance for clients, regulators, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Support the development of remediation and risk-management approaches grounded in current science.
• Mentor colleagues and help advance CDM Smith's expertise in PFAS forensics.

Qualifications

• Deep, demonstrated subject-matter expertise in PFAS chemistry, environmental forensics, and contaminant fate and transport.
• Experience advising on international environmental projects involving emerging contaminants.
• Strong analytical, interpretive, and technical communication skills suited to a senior expert role.
• Ability to work on-site in Augusta in a full-time capacity.
