The Opportunity

As a Helicopter Pilot with Air Methods, you'll operate EC 135 aircraft in VFR conditions, delivering rapid emergency medical response across North Carolina. You'll work with experienced flight crews, coordinate with ground EMS partners, and contribute to Air Methods' legacy as the nation's leading air medical provider. Responsibilities

• Pilot EC 135 helicopter aircraft safely and efficiently across assigned service areas
• Maintain VFR flight operations and comply with all FAA regulations and operational protocols
• Coordinate with dispatch, ground EMS crews, and receiving facilities to ensure seamless patient transport
• Conduct pre-flight and post-flight aircraft inspections and maintain detailed flight logs
• Participate in crew briefings, training, and continuous professional development
• Uphold the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and patient-centered care

Requirements

• Current commercial helicopter pilot certificate with instrument rating
• Minimum flight hour requirement per air medical standards
• Type rating or willingness to obtain type rating on EC 135 aircraft
• Valid medical certificate
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills in high-pressure environments
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, and emergency medical service standards
