Cape Fear Academy seeks an experienced Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach to lead our girls basketball program in Wilmington, NC. This is a full-time position for the 2026-2027 season, offering the opportunity to develop student-athletes in one of the region's premier athletic facilities.
About the Role
As Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Cape Fear Academy, you'll direct all aspects of our girls basketball program, from recruiting and skill development to game strategy and athlete mentorship. You'll work within a competitive athletic environment where our teams face off against leading schools throughout New Hanover County and across North Carolina.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute practice plans that build fundamentals, tactical knowledge, and competitive readiness
- Design game strategies and lead teams during competition
- Scout opposing teams and prepare game plans accordingly
- Recruit and evaluate student-athlete talent for the varsity roster
- Foster a culture of excellence, discipline, and academic achievement among team members
- Mentor young athletes on and off the court, emphasizing character development
- Maintain compliance with athletic association rules and school policies
- Manage team logistics, including schedules, travel, and equipment
