Fastmarkets seeks an accomplished, commercially savvy leader to serve as Head of Forest Consulting in Eugene, Lane County—a full-time position. This senior leadership opportunity lets you build and expand a premier consultancy practice serving the global forest products sector, from pulp and paper to packaging and beyond.

What This Role Involves

As Head of Forest Consulting, you'll lead a dynamic consultancy practice delivering strategic advisory services to forest products industry clients. You'll drive business development, oversee client engagements, and shape the strategic direction of your practice to seize growth opportunities across North American and international forest products markets. This hands-on leadership role combines executive oversight with direct involvement in high-value client advisory work.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a consultancy team delivering market intelligence and strategic guidance across the forest products supply chain
• Develop and execute business strategy to expand consulting revenue, client base, and market standing in forest products advisory services
• Build and cultivate relationships with enterprise and mid-market clients across pulp, paper, packaging, and related forest product sectors
• Oversee quality delivery of consulting engagements, ensuring measurable client outcomes and satisfaction
• Identify emerging industry trends and translate them into innovative consulting offerings and client value propositions
• Contribute to thought leadership through industry presentations, research, and advisory content
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other Fastmarkets divisions to integrate services and amplify client value

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of forest products consulting, research, or advisory experience, with demonstrated success building and leading consulting teams or practices
• Deep expertise in pulp, paper, packaging, timber, or allied forest products markets
• Strong business development capabilities and client relationship management skills with a track record of closing consulting engagements
• Proven ability to drive revenue growth and build profitable business lines
• Leadership experience managing and developing consulting professionals
• Excellent communication and analytical skills; ability to translate market complexity into actionable client guidance
• Graduate degree preferred; MBA or advanced degree in business, forestry, environmental science, or related field a plus
