Merck is seeking an accomplished medical leader to join our team in Topeka, Shawnee County as a Global Medical Excellence Director (GMED) focused on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). This full-time, on-site position is ideal for a seasoned subject matter expert ready to shape medical excellence across General and Specialty Medicine.
About the Role
As the Global Medical Excellence Director (GMED) at Merck in Topeka, you will report to the Senior Director of Global Medical Excellence and serve as a recognized authority in General and Specialty Medicine. Your central mission is to guide and advance Value & Implementation (V&I) medical excellence initiatives within the General & Specialty Medicine Therapeutic Area, with particular emphasis on COPD.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and champion medical excellence programs across the General & Specialty Medicine Therapeutic Area.
- Drive Value & Implementation (V&I) strategy and execution in support of organizational medical objectives.
- Act as the subject matter expert for COPD and related specialty medicine topics.
- Partner closely with the Senior Director, Global Medical Excellence, to align initiatives with broader medical goals.
- Provide experienced leadership and mentorship to cross-functional medical teams.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience as a subject matter expert in General and Specialty Medicine.
- Deep knowledge of medical excellence principles and Value & Implementation frameworks.
- Familiarity with COPD and the broader specialty medicine landscape.
- Strong ability to collaborate across functions and influence at a global level.
- Capacity to work on-site full-time in Topeka, Shawnee County.
