About This Position

The Food Service Manager II is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of food service facilities at the University of North Carolina Asheville. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining high standards of customer service and quality in all culinary offerings.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and train food service staff to ensure efficient operations and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement menu plans that meet nutritional guidelines and student preferences, ensuring a diverse range of meal options.
• Monitor inventory levels, manage purchasing, and control costs while maintaining quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with health codes, OSHA regulations, and other relevant laws to maintain a safe working environment for staff and students.
• Collaborate with campus partners to enhance the dining experience and support university events.

What We're Looking For

• A minimum of 3 years of management experience in food service operations, preferably in a retail or higher education setting.
• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and mentor staff effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with students, faculty, and other stakeholders.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and experience with inventory management systems.
