Financial Clerk II – Hospice

Halifax Health is hiring a Full-Time Financial Clerk II for our Hospice Finance team based in Port Orange, Volusia County, Florida. In this day shift role, you'll manage patient-centered accounts payable while supporting our commitment to compassionate end-of-life care.

About the Role

As a Financial Clerk II – Hospice, you'll handle accounts payable functions specific to hospice patient operations and billing. Reporting to the Financial Director, you'll coordinate departmental workflow, provide guidance to team members, and ensure timely, accurate processing of financial transactions that support quality care delivery.

What You'll Do

• Process and manage accounts payable for hospice operations, including invoice entry, vendor payments, and reconciliation
• Coordinate work distribution within the finance department and prioritize competing tasks
• Train and mentor junior finance staff members on procedures and best practices
• Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards
• Resolve payment discrepancies and communicate with vendors and internal departments
• Assist with month-end and period-end closing procedures

What We're Looking For

• High School diploma or GED required
• Associate's degree in accounting, business, or finance, OR 2–3+ years of hands-on finance or accounts payable experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with financial data and documentation
• Ability to work independently and guide others in a healthcare environment
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Familiarity with hospice or healthcare operations a plus
