Santa Fe College is hiring a full-time English Teacher for the Academy of Science and Technology in Gainesville, Alachua County, Florida. About the Role

This is a full-time, 10-month contract position offering an annual salary of $49,029. You will teach five classes per semester with one dedicated planning period, providing structured time for curriculum development, assessment, and professional growth. Educators interested in extended employment may find additional teaching opportunities available during summer sessions.

What You'll Do

• Deliver standards-aligned English Language Arts instruction that develops reading comprehension, analytical writing, and communication skills
• Design and teach engaging lessons that challenge students to think critically and engage meaningfully with texts
• Assess student progress through varied evaluation methods and adjust instruction accordingly
• Build inclusive classroom communities where all learners feel supported and valued
• Collaborate with department colleagues and school staff to ensure curriculum coherence and student support
• Maintain records, grade assignments, and communicate student progress to families

What We're Looking For

• Valid Florida teaching certification in English Language Arts or equivalent qualification
• Demonstrated expertise in secondary English instruction, including literature and composition
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Experience with differentiated instruction and supporting diverse learners
