About the Role
Pine City Public Schools is seeking a dedicated English Language Teacher to support English learners (EL) across the district. This part-time role brings you into elementary classrooms where you'll work alongside teachers to assess student language development, design targeted interventions, and deliver evidence-based ESL instruction that builds both conversational and academic English skills.
What You'll Do
- Assess English language proficiency and design individualized support plans for EL students
- Deliver small-group and individual ESL instruction aligned to district standards and student IEPs where applicable
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate language development into core academic instruction
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on formative assessment data
- Support students in developing oral, reading, and writing skills in English
- Communicate with families about their child's language learning progress
What We're Looking For
- Valid ESL or English Language Development teaching certification or equivalent credentials
- Strong understanding of second language acquisition and research-based EL instructional practices
- Ability to assess and teach across proficiency levels (beginner through advanced)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners and their families
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field
