Position Summary
This is a full-time position responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SCADA systems and industrial control infrastructure at our power plant facility in the Boston area. You'll work at the intersection of electrical engineering, software systems, and operational excellence, ensuring that real-time monitoring and automated control systems meet stringent safety, reliability, and performance standards. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact the efficiency and safety of critical power generation infrastructure.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain SCADA systems, including supervisory software, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and distributed control systems
- Troubleshoot control system malfunctions and develop solutions to prevent operational disruptions
- Design and implement upgrades to existing control architectures to improve system reliability and efficiency
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to optimize plant performance
- Document system configurations, procedures, and changes for compliance and knowledge transfer
- Support safety protocols and regulatory compliance across all control systems and automation processes
- Conduct system testing and validation to ensure proper functionality before deployment
Who We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, control systems engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Proven experience with SCADA systems, HMI (human-machine interface) platforms, and PLC programming
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for industrial automation systems
- Understanding of power generation processes and electrical systems
- Familiarity with industrial control standards and safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Attention to detail and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
