Electronic Health Record Administrator

What This Role Involves

You'll oversee the administration and security of our electronic health record database, ensuring seamless system performance and reliable access for our clinical and administrative staff. This position bridges our information technology infrastructure with day-to-day clinical operations, requiring both technical expertise and strong collaborative skills.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom forms within our Avatar electronic health record system used across Hope Services operations
• Create and modify Crystal Reports that extract and analyze data from our health information systems, as well as Microsoft Access reports for management use
• Write and optimize Visual Basic code and SQL queries to support reporting and database functionality
• Manage database connectivity across all networked computers at our counseling center and support systems
• Monitor Avatar software performance, identify and resolve technical issues, and coordinate with software vendor support teams
• Troubleshoot computer and software problems for clinical and administrative staff, providing training as needed
• Review and correct daily billing errors within the Avatar system to ensure accuracy
• Verify monthly billing submissions for SARC and County agencies, maintaining compliance with reporting requirements
• Support preparation for annual organizational audits and maintain documentation standards

Who We're Looking For

• Minimum three years of hands-on experience working in database administration environments
• Proficiency in C language, database administration, and SQL (required)
• Knowledge of electronic health record systems and familiarity with evolving technical standards, best practices, and browser compatibility
• Competence in Microsoft Office and web-based applications
• Strong ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; personable and professional demeanor
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field (preferred)
• Ability to work some early mornings, evenings, and non-standard hours as needed
