What This Role Involves

The Educator position at Te Unua Museum of Southland offers a dynamic and varied role. You will be responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on education programmes that connect students and communities to the rich history, heritage, and cultural narratives of Murihiku Southland. Expect no two days to be the same as you might find yourself delivering curriculum-linked programmes to local students one day, developing digital learning resources the next, or supporting exhibitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional, hands-on education programmes that engage students and communities with Southland's rich history and cultural narratives.
• Create and deliver curriculum-linked educational experiences for local students.
<liDevelop digital learning resources to enhance the museum’s educational offerings.
• Support exhibitions by providing educational content and activities.

Qualifications

A relevant degree in education, museology, or a related field is essential. Experience working with children and a strong understanding of Murihiku Southland’s cultural heritage are highly desirable. Strong communication skills, creativity, and the ability to develop innovative educational programmes are also required.
