Position Summary

The Invercargill City Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Horticultural Assistant to join our team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to the community's green spaces and parks.

Core Duties

• Assist in the maintenance, care, and development of public gardens and parks
• Conduct regular inspections of plants, soil, and irrigation systems
• Participate in planting, pruning, and weeding activities as required
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best horticultural practices
• Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals and deadlines

What We're Looking For

• A strong background in horticulture or a related field
• Experience in garden maintenance, landscaping, or similar roles
• A passion for nature and a commitment to sustainability practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A valid New Zealand driver's license (due to the need for travel between sites)
