Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Swim Teacher to join our friendly Aquatic Services team at Invercargill City Council. As a Swim Teacher, you will play a crucial role in teaching vital life skills to individuals of all ages, ensuring they can enjoy the water safely.

Your Responsibilities

• Teach swimming lessons to students of varying ages and abilities, focusing on safety and technique.
• Develop and maintain a safe learning environment in the pool.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of each student, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
• Assess and provide feedback to students to help them improve their swimming skills.

Skills & Qualifications

• A current New Zealand Level 1 or higher Swim Teacher qualification is essential.
• Experience in teaching swimming lessons, particularly with children and beginners, would be advantageous.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey instructions and provide encouragement.
• A commitment to safety and a passion for promoting water safety among the community.
