Early Childhood PreK 3-year-old Paraprofessional Educator

Join Perry Public Schools USD 343 as an Early Childhood PreK 3-year-old Paraprofessional Educator in Perry, Jefferson County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to directly impact the foundational development of preschool students in a supportive classroom environment.

Position Summary

As a Paraprofessional Educator, you will partner with classroom instructors to foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where preschool students thrive emotionally, socially, and intellectually. Working under the direction of the building principal, you'll support the instructional program and help create the conditions for young learners to develop confidence, curiosity, and early academic skills. This role is non-exempt and runs for 171 contract days annually.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Assist instructors in delivering age-appropriate learning activities and transitions throughout the school day
• Provide direct supervision and behavioral guidance to help students develop self-regulation and social skills
• Support students with personal care routines, including hygiene and bathroom assistance
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom learning space
• Communicate with families about student progress and classroom activities
• Assist with implementing classroom management strategies and supporting students who need additional emotional or behavioral support
• Support students with special needs or individualized learning plans as directed by the instructor

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience working with or caring for young children (prior childcare, education, or related experience preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to lift, assist, and engage with young children throughout the day
• Willingness to follow classroom and district protocols and support the building principal's vision
• Ability to obtain background clearance as required by the district
