Director of Development and Donor Engagement

Lightshare Behavioral Wellness & Recovery is seeking a Director of Development and Donor Engagement to join our team in Tallevast, Manatee County. This is a full-time position leading our fundraising strategy and donor relations to support our mission-driven work in behavioral health and recovery services.

Position Summary

As Director of Development and Donor Engagement, you will lead all fundraising operations and build meaningful partnerships with individual donors, foundations, and community supporters. You will develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies that generate revenue, deepen donor relationships, and advance Lightshare's impact in the communities we serve.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual fundraising plans aligned with organizational goals and financial targets
• Identify, research, and prospect donors at all levels, from individual contributors to major gift prospects
• Cultivate and manage an active donor portfolio, maintaining regular meaningful contact and stewardship
• Coordinate fundraising campaigns, including annual giving, capital initiatives, and special events
• Oversee grant research, proposal development, and reporting to foundation and government funders
• Track fundraising metrics, donor data, and campaign performance to inform strategy and reporting
• Work cross-functionally with program leadership to communicate organizational impact and outcomes to donors
• Recruit, train, and manage fundraising volunteers and development staff as needed
• Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses and community organizations to expand funding opportunities

Who We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or related field
• 5+ years of professional fundraising, development, or donor relations experience
• Demonstrated success securing major gifts and managing donor relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence and commitment
• Strong project management and organizational abilities with attention to detail
• Experience with donor database systems and fundraising metrics
• Passion for nonprofit mission and behavioral health, recovery, or social services
