Director, National Capital Poison Center

JEEL is seeking a Director, National Capital Poison Center — a leadership role for a medical or clinical toxicologist to oversee operations and strategy for a premier regional poison control center with expanding national reach. This is a full-time, US-based position headquartered in the Washington, DC area, where you'll lead clinical toxicology services and guide the center's growth as a critical resource for poison exposure management.

About the Role

The National Capital Poison Center is a regional medical authority that manages acute poison exposure cases and provides expert clinical toxicology consultation to healthcare facilities, emergency responders, and the general public. As Director, you'll oversee clinical operations, establish standards of care, and drive strategic initiatives. The center has deep roots in the DC metro region, where it handles approximately 38,000 human poison exposure cases annually, and maintains significant national scope through its web-based POISON CONTROL platform, which manages around 130,000 poison exposure cases per year across the United States.

What You'll Do

• Lead clinical staff and establish protocols for poison exposure assessment, management, and education
• Oversee all regional operations serving the DC metropolitan area and surrounding communities
• Direct strategy and innovation for the center's national web platform and services
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards for poison control services
• Collaborate with healthcare systems, emergency services, and public health agencies on clinical toxicology initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Medical or clinical toxicologist with substantial experience in poison control or emergency toxicology
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience in healthcare or clinical settings
