Join Prospiant Inc as a Designer I to help advance controlled environment agriculture (CEA) technology. We're seeking a talented design professional to work on institutional greenhouse systems in our Cincinnati, Hamilton County headquarters, supporting the evolution of our proven growing solutions.
About the Role
As a Designer I focused on institutional maintenance and innovation, you'll contribute to the design, refinement, and optimization of custom greenhouse systems and components. This role bridges engineering and product development, giving you hands-on experience with complex systems used in research, educational, and commercial cultivation environments. You'll work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, and field teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, reliable, and effective in the field.
What You'll Do
- Develop and improve designs for greenhouse structural systems, environmental controls, and operational components
- Support the design-to-manufacturing process, ensuring specifications translate accurately to production
- Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to troubleshoot existing systems and identify optimization opportunities
- Participate in field evaluations and customer feedback sessions to understand real-world system performance
- Contribute to design documentation, technical drawings, and system specifications
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system reliability and customer satisfaction
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, design, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Proficiency with CAD software and technical drawing standards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturability principles
- Interest in agriculture technology or environmental systems is a plus
