Role Overview

Duluth Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and skilled Custodian to join our team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and order in district-wide schools, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff. The position offers 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with flexible hours depending on the site needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of all school areas including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common spaces
• Clean and sanitize facilities using appropriate cleaning products and equipment
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of events and activities as needed
• Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel
• Perform general custodial duties such as dusting, mopping, and vacuuming

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
• Clean driving record (if applicable)
• Valid driver's license (if applicable)
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and procedures
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
