Corporate Counsel Personal Injury Litigation

Solid Waste Services seeks an experienced Corporate Counsel specializing in personal injury litigation to join our growing team in Trooper, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. This is a full-time position with a well-established, family-owned solid waste services company experiencing significant expansion across the Mid-Atlantic region.

About the Role

As Corporate Counsel for Personal Injury Litigation, you will serve as the primary legal resource managing the company's exposure to personal injury claims, defending litigation matters, and protecting our interests across operations in one of the region's most dynamic waste services organizations. You will handle complex casualty defense, oversee settlement negotiations, and provide strategic legal counsel to minimize organizational liability while maintaining operational continuity.

What You'll Do

• Manage and defend personal injury litigation matters from inception through resolution, working with external counsel and adjusters as needed
• Review incident reports, investigate claims, and develop defense strategies aligned with company risk management objectives
• Negotiate settlements and manage litigation budgets to control costs while achieving favorable outcomes
• Provide proactive legal guidance to operations, safety, and management teams on personal injury risk mitigation
• Maintain compliance with insurance requirements and policy obligations related to casualty coverage
• Document and track litigation matters, ensuring proper case management and regulatory adherence
• Advise on employment practices and operational decisions that affect litigation exposure

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school; Pennsylvania bar admission required
• 5+ years of personal injury litigation and casualty defense experience
• Strong negotiation and settlement management skills
• Experience in corporate counsel roles or in-house positions preferred
• Knowledge of waste services, transportation, or industrial operations is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple matters simultaneously
