Senior Project Manager/Practice Builder – Water/Wastewater

Kimley-Horn seeks a Senior Project Manager/Practice Builder to lead and grow our Water and Wastewater services division in the Belmont area. In this full-time role, you'll direct complex infrastructure projects while building a high-performing, multi-discipline team to establish market presence and deliver exceptional client value across Northern California.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced engineering manager ready to take on strategic responsibility for practice growth and operational excellence. You'll oversee projects spanning water and wastewater treatment systems, pumping infrastructure, and large-diameter conveyance networks—including water distribution and collection systems. Your leadership will shape how Kimley-Horn serves this vital sector in the Bay Area.

What You'll Do

• Direct delivery of water/wastewater infrastructure projects, from planning through completion
• Build and mentor a multi-disciplinary engineering team committed to technical excellence and client satisfaction
• Develop and execute strategies to grow the practice and expand market share in the San Mateo region
• Oversee budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure project profitability and on-time delivery
• Foster client relationships and identify new business opportunities in water and wastewater sectors
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions for complex infrastructure challenges

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience managing water/wastewater or similar infrastructure projects
• Track record of team leadership, mentorship, and practice development
• Strong understanding of water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping systems, and conveyance infrastructure
• Strategic thinking and business development mindset
• Excellent project management and organizational skills
• Ability to balance technical delivery with business growth objectives
