Role Overview

This full-time position offers the opportunity to lead forensic architecture and engineering assessments for high-stakes projects. You'll evaluate building systems, structural integrity, construction defects, and design failures while delivering expert analysis that informs critical decisions in litigation, insurance, and risk management contexts. Based remotely, you'll work with an established consulting firm recognized for rigorous technical investigation and evidence-driven conclusions.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed forensic assessments of buildings, structures, and construction projects to identify root causes of failures or defects
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports documenting findings, methodology, and conclusions for legal and insurance proceedings
• Serve as an expert witness and advisor in arbitration, litigation, and settlement discussions
• Analyze design drawings, construction documents, and specifications against applicable codes and standards
• Collaborate with engineering teams and other specialists to develop thorough, defensible expert opinions
• Review and assess building envelope systems, structural components, mechanical systems, and construction quality

Who We're Looking For

• Valid OAQ (Ordre des architectes du Québec) certification and professional standing
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in architectural practice, with demonstrated expertise in forensic analysis or construction defect investigation
• Strong knowledge of the Quebec building code, National Building Code of Canada, and relevant standards
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills for both specialist and non-technical audiences
• Proven ability to work independently and meet project deadlines in a consulting environment
• Professional liability and expert witness experience preferred
