Comprehensive Surgeon / Ophthalmologist – Private Practice with Partnership – Dartmouth, MA

Ocular Recruiting is seeking a full-time Comprehensive Ophthalmologist with cataract surgery capabilities to join an established, physician-owned private practice serving Dartmouth and Taunton, Massachusetts — with a pathway to partnership.

About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to step into a thriving, independent ophthalmology practice in southeastern Massachusetts as an existing provider transitions toward retirement. The position is based primarily across the Dartmouth and Taunton locations, with the broader practice also maintaining a presence in New Bedford and Fall River. The communities served — Dartmouth (population ~34,000) and Taunton (population ~62,000) — represent a stable, underserved patient base with genuine long-term need for high-quality eye care. Because this is an MD-owned practice, you'll operate free from corporate mandates and have a direct voice in how care is delivered.

What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive ophthalmic care across the full scope of general ophthalmology, including routine and complex exams, diagnosis, and medical management of ocular conditions
• Perform cataract surgery and manage pre- and post-operative patient care
• Build ongoing relationships with patients across multiple southeastern Massachusetts communities
• Collaborate with existing clinical staff and support teams to maintain the practice's standard of care
• Participate in practice leadership and operations as you advance toward a partnership stake

What We're Looking For

• MD with board certification or board eligibility in Ophthalmology
• Demonstrated competency in general ophthalmology and independent cataract surgery
• Active Massachusetts medical license or eligibility to obtain one
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach to care
• Interest in long-term commitment to the region and a genuine desire to build within a privately owned practice
• Comfort working across multiple clinic locations within the same regional footprint
