This full-time position reports to the Senior Procurement Manager within our Sustainable Technology Solutions division, which delivers licensed process technologies, technical consulting services, and energy transition innovations throughout the asset lifecycle.
Role Overview
The Commercial Specialist plays a vital role in KBR's procurement operations in Pune, shaping how we source materials, negotiate contracts, and build sustainable supplier partnerships. You'll operate at the intersection of commercial strategy and project delivery, working with cross-functional teams to ensure procurement decisions support both immediate project needs and our longer-term transition toward renewable and sustainable energy solutions. What You'll Do
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and contractors, securing competitive pricing and favourable contract structures
- Develop procurement strategies, including RFQs, RFPs, and purchase specifications aligned with project requirements
- Analyse spending data and market trends to uncover cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality or delivery
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, and financial teams to synchronise procurement with project schedules and budgets
- Monitor vendor performance, maintain supplier databases, and drive continuous improvement in vendor relationships
- Ensure all commercial transactions meet regulatory standards, compliance requirements, and company policies
What You Bring
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in procurement, commercial operations, supply chain management, or vendor coordination
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively
- Proficiency with ERP systems, procurement software, or commercial data management platforms
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret spending patterns and market data
- Excellent communication and documentation skills in English
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, supply chain management, or equivalent field experience
- Prior experience in energy, industrial technology, or engineering sectors is valued
