Grange Insurance Careers is hiring a full-time Claims Property Field Catastrophe (CAT) Representative to join our rapid-response team. This is a remote-based position for candidates located in Cleveland, Ohio and the surrounding area, ideal for someone ready to respond to major property loss events on short notice.
About the Role
When catastrophic storms, floods, and other major weather events strike, our Claims Property Field Catastrophe Representatives mobilize to help policyholders recover. You'll investigate damage claims, evaluate coverage and settlement value, and negotiate resolutions with customers during their most critical moments.
What You'll Do
- Investigate assigned property damage claims thoroughly, gathering evidence and documenting scope
- Evaluate claim facts to determine coverage applicability and settlement amounts
- Negotiate fair settlements with claimants, vendors, and other parties
- Respond to catastrophe deployment directives on short notice, working extended periods as needed
- Travel to affected properties to assess damage firsthand and prepare detailed loss reports
- Work weekends and irregular schedules during active catastrophe events
- Maintain accurate file documentation and ensure quality claim handling throughout resolution
- Provide professional customer service during high-stress situations
What We're Looking For
- Current residence in Cleveland, Ohio or surrounding counties in the Cuyahoga County area
- Ability to respond rapidly to urgent deployment requests, including nights and weekends
- Strong investigative and analytical abilities for evaluating complex property losses
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Sound judgment and integrity in handling sensitive claim matters
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regionally
- Resilience and composure when working in disaster environments
