Child and Family Services Specialist (CFSS)

About the Role

Working for the Health & Human Services Department, you'll provide direct support to families navigating challenges and transitions. As a Child and Family Services Specialist, you'll build trust with Spanish-speaking families, assess their needs, connect them to community resources, and help coordinate care that keeps children safe and families stable.

What You'll Do

• Conduct thorough assessments of family circumstances and child safety
• Develop individualized service plans aligned with family goals and strengths
• Provide bilingual Spanish-English support during family meetings and crisis interventions
• Connect families to housing, behavioral health, employment, education, and other essential resources
• Maintain accurate, timely case documentation in state systems
• Attend court proceedings and collaborate with schools, medical providers, and community partners
• Follow up with families to monitor progress and adjust services as needed

What We're Looking For

• Fluency in Spanish and English (verbal and written)
• High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant work experience in social services, case management, or family support
• Valid Nebraska driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to manage heavy caseloads and work independently in the field
• Compassion for families under stress and commitment to culturally responsive practice
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
