About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site Certified Teacher - Special Education (LBS1) - SS 2/3 (6th-8th) position based at Parkside Junior High School within McLean County Unit District No. 5. As a member of the building personnel team, you will deliver Learning & Behavioral Services 1 instruction tailored to the unique needs of middle-grade students. The role is available for the Fall 2026 school year and remains open until filled.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver specialized instruction aligned to each student's individualized education program (IEP).
- Provide learning and behavioral support to students in grades 6 through 8.
- Monitor academic progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
- Collaborate with families, fellow educators, and support staff to foster student success.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district and state requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois teaching certification with a Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) endorsement.
- Preparation to teach special education at the junior high (6th-8th grade) level.
- Strong skills in differentiated instruction and behavioral support strategies.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities for working with students, parents, and colleagues.
