What This Role Involves

Your role as a Building Control Officer will involve both office-based and fieldwork. You'll be responsible for ensuring that all building activities comply with the Building Act, Building Regulations, and other relevant policies. This includes issuing permits, conducting inspections, and providing advice to residents and businesses on compliance matters.

Core Duties

• Carry out site inspections to ensure compliance with building regulations
• Issue building permits and certificates of fitness
• Provide technical advice to the public regarding building works
• Conduct investigations into non-compliance issues
• Prepare and maintain detailed records and reports

What You Bring

• A relevant tertiary qualification in a construction-related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong knowledge of the Building Act 2004 and associated regulations
