Position Summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Maintenance Officer to provide critical maintenance support at the Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP), a maximum-security correctional facility located in Melbourne. This fixed-term, full-time opportunity offers a COG grade 2B salary range of $83,288 - $95,778 plus superannuation.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the prison facility
• Conduct regular inspections and repairs of buildings, equipment, and infrastructure
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a secure environment
• Participate in emergency response and management activities as required

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in maintenance or related field
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the correctional services industry is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport for job-related travel
