The Opportunity

Silver Fern Farms Hāwera is seeking a reliable and hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to support the ongoing upkeep and compliance of our plant and facilities. This dynamic role suits a self-motivated “jack-of-all-trades” who enjoys variety and takes pride in maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks on buildings, equipment, and systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist in the repair and replacement of building components such as plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and structural elements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by adhering to health and safety standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and document findings to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to support their maintenance needs and ensure smooth operations.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a candidate who is:

• Possesses a trade qualification in building or mechanical maintenance, or equivalent experience.
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Familiar with safety protocols and regulations related to building maintenance.
• Able to lift and carry heavy materials and tools, and work in various weather conditions.
