Join North Ridgeville City School District as an Assistant Middle School Men's Track Coach, based at North Ridgeville Academic Center in Lorain County. This is a full-time supplemental coaching position for the 2026–2027 school year, offering the opportunity to develop young athletes and support our competitive track program.
About the Role
As Assistant Men's Track Coach at the middle school level, you'll work alongside the head coach to guide student-athletes in sprints, distance running, jumping, and throwing events. This position combines on-field instruction with mentorship, fostering both athletic skill and character development in a school-based environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead training sessions and conditioning programs for middle school male track athletes
- Teach proper technique in assigned track and field events
- Support meet preparation, competition management, and travel coordination
- Monitor athlete health, safety, and compliance with athletic policies
- Communicate with parents, athletes, and the athletic department regarding progress and expectations
- Assist with equipment maintenance and facility management
What We're Looking For
Candidates must hold or be able to obtain the following certifications and clearances before employment begins:
- Valid Background Clearance Investigation (BCI) and FBI clearance
- CPR and First Aid certification
- First Aid for Coaches credential
- Fundamentals of Coaching certification
- Concussion Training certification
- Mental Health training
- Sudden Cardiac Arrest (Lindsay's Law) training
- Pupil Activity Permit filed with HR
You should demonstrate strong communication skills, a passion for youth athletics, and a commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and competitive environment. Prior coaching or athletic experience is highly valued.
