Assistant District Attorney position with The County Of Adams in Gettysburg, Adams County.

About the Role

As an Assistant District Attorney, you will serve the Commonwealth by prosecuting criminal matters and supporting the pursuit of justice throughout Adams County. This full‑time position places you at the forefront of case preparation, courtroom advocacy, and collaboration with law‑enforcement partners.

What You'll Do

• Review police reports and evidence to determine appropriate charges
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
• Represent the Commonwealth in preliminary hearings, arraignments, trials, and sentencing
• Negotiate plea agreements while safeguarding victims’ rights and public safety
• Work closely with detectives, victim advocates, and other stakeholders to build strong cases
• Handle post‑sentence matters such as probation violations and appeals
• Maintain accurate case files and comply with all procedural rules and ethical standards

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Active membership in the Pennsylvania Bar (or eligibility for admission)
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex factual and legal issues
• Strong oral and written communication skills for courtroom and client interactions
• Commitment to ethical prosecution and community safety
• Preferred: prior experience in criminal prosecution, civil litigation, or public service
• Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software
