Position Summary

As a full-time Asset Protection Specialist with Green Thumb in Allentown, Pennsylvania you will serve as the approachable first point of contact who shapes positive impressions from the moment people arrive. The position blends friendly customer support with ready-to-act safety leadership so that everyone feels respected, calm, and cared for while compliance standards stay intact. People who enjoy connecting with others, staying physically prepared for prompt response, and reinforcing a professional yet inviting culture will succeed here. The work is not limited to conventional security; it actively elevates both the guest experience and day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet every visitor with genuine warmth and efficiently manage check-in while meeting all compliance requirements to establish a positive atmosphere immediately.
  • Deliver basic concierge assistance by answering everyday questions and guiding people smoothly through the location.
  • Provide a visible, mobile, and approachable presence that deters issues, supports order, and covers entrances, exits, and site perimeters for safety and comfort.
  • De-escalate situations through empathy, tact, and clear communication while escorting guests or visitors as needed to keep flow, cleanliness, and safety on track.
  • Stay fully alert, respond urgently to and properly report any safety, security, or compliance incidents, and assist with emergency readiness for fire, evacuation, or weather events.
  • Complete visual inspections according to procedures to keep the environment free of hazards and share discreet insights on guest interactions or risks with store teams and leadership.
  • Build mutual trust across the team, model professional and compliant conduct while helping train new Asset Protection Specialist colleagues, and handle other assigned duties.

What You Bring

  • At least one year of customer-facing or concierge experience strongly preferred, along with preferred familiarity with POS systems or compliance tools; security, military, or law enforcement experience is advantageous when paired with a hospitality-first mindset.
  • Flexibility for schedules that include mornings, days, nights, and weekends; reliable attendance; valid driver’s license or state ID; age 21 or older; successful completion of required background checks and state-specific cannabis employment requirements; and ongoing adherence to all legal and company regulations for cannabis-related roles.
  • Ability to remain alert and responsive for entire shifts, move about the location to assist guests, stay stationary when needed, converse with individuals or groups, operate POS and computer systems for word processing, databases, spreadsheets and email, review birth dates and order details, and independently lift materials up to 30 pounds while positioning yourself in storage areas.
  • Comfort standing or walking for full shifts indoors and outdoors while maintaining a mobile floor presence in a fast-paced guest-facing retail setting that may involve outdoor duties in varying weather and exposure to cannabis or related allergens.
  • Friendly professional demeanor, strong interpersonal and customer-service skills, calm empathy under pressure, talent for building effective working relationships, clear verbal and written communication, understanding of applicable cannabis laws, safety rules, municipal codes and standard operating procedures, readiness to follow direction and feedback, and high integrity when handling confidential information including HIPAA requirements.
