AI Engineer – FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential data platform organization seeking an AI Engineer - Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join their customer-facing AI team. This role is open to candidates anywhere in the world and offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge GenAI solutions while serving as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise clients.

Our client's Forward Deployed Engineering team delivers specialized professional services engagements, helping customers build and productionize first-of-its-kind AI applications. This position requires occasional travel (once every 4-8 weeks) to meet with customers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop cutting-edge GenAI solutions incorporating the latest techniques to solve complex customer problems
• Own production rollouts of consumer-facing and internal GenAI applications
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers across diverse industries and use cases
• Present at industry conferences and contribute to thought leadership internally and externally
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to influence priorities and shape the product roadmap
• Drive customer success through hands-on technical engagement and strategic consultation

What We're Looking For

• GenAI application experience: Hands-on work building RAG systems, multi-agent systems, Text2SQL, fine-tuning, and related applications using tools such as HuggingFace, LangChain, and DSPy
• Production deployment expertise: Proven ability to deploy production-grade GenAI applications, including evaluation frameworks and optimization strategies
• Data science background: Extensive industry experience with machine learning and data science tools including pandas, scikit-learn, and PyTorch
• Cloud infrastructure: Experience building production-grade machine learning deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Education: Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or equivalent practical experience
• Communication skills: Demonstrated ability to communicate and teach technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Passion: Genuine enthusiasm for collaboration, lifelong learning, and driving business value through AI
• Preferred: Experience with distributed data processing frameworks and large-scale dataset handling
• Travel: Willingness to travel once every 4-8 weeks for customer engagements

Pay
