About the Role

We're seeking a creative and detail-oriented Newscast Producer to lead the day-to-day execution of our newscasts. In this full-time position, you'll collaborate with newsroom leadership, on-air anchors, technical directors, and assignment desk staff to deliver compelling, accurate news content that serves the Charleston community. You'll own the production workflow, from story selection through on-air delivery, making real-time editorial and operational decisions that define our broadcast.

What You'll Do

• Build and manage complete newscast rundowns, determining story order, timing, and editorial emphasis
• Work with anchors, reporters, and producers to coordinate stories, packages, graphics, and breaking news elements
• Partner with the Executive Producer and Director to translate newsroom priorities into broadcast reality
• Monitor live broadcasts and adapt production in response to developing stories and technical needs
• Manage multiple concurrent story tracks while maintaining broadcast flow, pacing, and quality standards
• Demonstrate strong news judgment in story selection and placement decisions
• Communicate clearly and efficiently across newsroom departments under deadline pressure

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a News Producer, broadcast production coordinator, or newsroom producer
• Solid grasp of news judgment and the ability to prioritize stories for maximum impact
• Proficiency with newsroom management systems and broadcast production software
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills in a fast-paced, breaking-news environment
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication abilities
• Ability to remain calm and decisive when managing competing priorities and live situations
• Passion for local journalism and commitment to serving the Charleston County market
