Granite Construction is hiring a Superintendent II at our Mission, Hidalgo County location. This is a full-time position leading construction operations on active project sites across the South Texas region.
About the Role
As Superintendent II with Granite Construction, you'll direct day-to-day construction activities, manage project teams, and ensure work proceeds safely, on schedule, and within budget. You'll report to the Project Manager and serve as the on-site leader who makes critical decisions that impact project success and our reputation in the Hidalgo County market.
What You'll Do
- Oversee construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors to execute project plans and meet deadlines
- Monitor safety practices and enforce compliance with OSHA and project-specific safety requirements
- Conduct daily site inspections and quality control checks to maintain construction standards
- Track project progress, materials, labor, and equipment costs against budget
- Coordinate logistics, including equipment delivery, material staging, and site access
- Communicate with project stakeholders, owners, and inspectors regarding status and concerns
- Document daily activities, incidents, and change orders with accurate record-keeping
- Solve on-site problems and make operational decisions to keep the project moving forward
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of construction site supervision or superintendence experience
- Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Strong leadership and communication skills with crews and multiple stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, and quality expectations
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region
- Construction safety certification (OSHA 30 or equivalent) preferred
- Familiarity with construction management software and job site documentation
