Santa Fe Public Schools is seeking an experienced and student-centered Assistant Principal for its K-8 Community School in El Dorado, Union County, for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, on-site leadership role offers an opportunity to shape instruction and culture at the El Dorado Community School.
About the Role
As Assistant Principal – K-8 Community School, you will partner with the Principal to lead daily operations, support teachers, and champion the academic growth and well-being of every learner. This is a 10-month, exempt position reporting to the Principal(s) and Assistant Superintendent, requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week. The position is non-union and follows the Principal/Assistant Principal pay schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Principal in directing the school's instructional program and daily administrative functions.
- Mentor, observe, and coach faculty to strengthen teaching practice across grades K through 8.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students and staff.
- Help interpret and implement district policies, procedures, and school improvement goals.
- Engage families and the broader community to advance the community school model.
- Support student discipline, attendance, and intervention efforts in a fair and consistent manner.
Qualifications
- Valid NMPED Pre K-12 Administrative licensure.
- Experience in school leadership, instructional coaching, or campus administration.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative leadership skills.
- Commitment to equitable, student-focused education in a K-8 setting.
- Successful completion of a post-offer/pre-employment screening, as required for all Santa Fe Public Schools positions.
