What This Role Involves

As a Spanish Language Immersion Teacher, you'll deliver instruction within a comprehensive, award-winning program designed to cultivate bilingual fluency and cultural competency. This full-time maternity leave replacement position provides sustained engagement with students throughout the entire 2026-2027 academic year, allowing you to guide learners through a critical period of language acquisition and development.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Deliver dynamic Spanish language instruction across assigned courses, reinforcing immersion methodology and building conversational and academic proficiencies
• Design and implement lesson plans that maximize student engagement with the target language in meaningful, authentic contexts
• Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing actionable feedback tied to immersion benchmarks
• Cultivate an inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation, risk-taking, and confidence in Spanish communication
• Coordinate with immersion program colleagues to maintain program coherence and support students' advancement toward bilingual competency goals
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and district initiatives as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

• Valid teaching license or certification in Spanish or Foreign Language (or eligibility for Indiana certification)
• Native or near-native command of Spanish across speaking, listening, reading, and writing
• Demonstrated teaching experience in Spanish language or immersion program settings
• Excellent classroom management and instructional organization skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction and meet diverse learner needs effectively
