Cabarrus County School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced Automotive Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in Mount Pleasant, Cabarrus County. This is a full-time position ideal for educators committed to preparing students for careers in the automotive trades and technology sectors.

About the Role

As an Automotive Teacher with Cabarrus County Schools, you'll design and deliver comprehensive automotive instruction that develops students' technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional competencies. You'll create a dynamic learning environment where students gain hands-on experience with modern automotive systems, diagnostic tools, and industry-standard practices while building the foundation for successful careers in automotive service, repair, and technology.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement engaging automotive curriculum aligned with state standards and industry certifications
• Instruct students in engine repair, electrical systems, brake systems, transmission maintenance, and diagnostics
• Supervise hands-on lab work, vehicle maintenance projects, and practical demonstrations in the automotive facility
• Assess student progress through tests, practical assessments, and real-world automotive projects
• Maintain automotive equipment, tools, and the learning lab in safe, professional condition
• Collaborate with career and technical education colleagues and industry partners
• Document student achievement and communicate progress to families
• Model professional standards, safety protocols, and workplace ethics

What We're Looking For

• Current teaching certification or eligibility for North Carolina automotive teacher licensure
• Proven experience teaching automotive trades, automotive technology, or related technical subjects
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems, repair procedures, and diagnostic techniques
• Ability to teach diverse learners and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to safety and professional shop practices
• Experience with career pathways, industry certifications, or apprenticeship programs (preferred)
