The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Officer to join our team at The Cathedral College. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to promoting the values of Catholic education.

• Commencement Date: As soon as possible or as negotiated with the successful applicant
• Employment Status: Term-time continuing
• Hours per week: 38 hours per week
• Hourly Rate: School Officer Level 3 - $34.19 to $35.64 per hour (pending experience)

What You'll Do

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that align with the College's goals and values. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the College’s social media presence across various platforms
• Producing and distributing press releases, newsletters, and other promotional materials
• Organizing events and managing public relations activities
• Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging
• Maintaining a strong online presence through website updates and content management

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for an individual who possesses the following:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism, or related field
• Proven experience in a similar role within a school or educational setting
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
• Familiarity with social media management tools and content creation software
• A passion for Catholic education and its values
