Position Summary
As an Embedded Security Engineer at SpaceX, you will play a critical role in ensuring the security of our Starlink system. This involves designing and building security infrastructure for our satellites and ground systems, developing security features, and maintaining existing production systems to enhance their security posture.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink, including cryptographic services and other security-critical services
- Develop security features for Starlink systems, such as our router, dish, gateways, and satellites
- Integrate security into factory processes and provide network services to support this
- Maintain existing production systems and improve their security posture through secure boot and vulnerability research
- Influence the security of software across both space and terrestrial systems
Requirements
- Notable skills in one or more of the following: applied cryptography, network security, operating system security, secure/authenticated boot, incident response and adversary detection, vulnerability research, and software engineering
- A deep understanding of cryptographic protocols and their implementation
- Experience with secure coding practices and methodologies
- Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- A passion for security and a commitment to building defensible systems from the ground up
